Feature journalism

By my third year in j-school, I knew I wasn’t meant to be a newspaper reporter. However, I continued to soak up everything I could about interviewing, researching and crafting engaging, memorable narratives. I knew I would use those skills somehow. And I was right! As a freelance journalist, I’ve written hundreds upon hundreds of trade and consumer magazine articles. I’m not a niche writer—in fact, I pride myself on tackling just about any topic, from the mainstream to the obscure. I get great personal satisfaction out of researching the hell out of a subject and producing an entirely original take on it. This is definitely reflected in the diversity of my clips.

Versatile copywriting

Copywriting is an under-appreciated art form. At its best, it’s a smart, approachable way for brands to connect with consumers. It’s harder than it looks, more influential than it’s given credit for and surprisingly fun to do.
