There’s nothing more satisfying than telling a great story. Some of my favourite projects include celebrating the unsung heroes in an organization or trumpeting the benefits of innovative work. Thriving corporations have a lot going on and they don’t always have the in-house resources to communicate to their employees or stakeholders effectively and personably. That’s where I come in. Consider me the relief writer who brings a fresh perspective to every type of communication.

By my third year in j-school, I knew I wasn’t meant to be a newspaper reporter. However, I continued to soak up everything I could about interviewing, researching and crafting engaging, memorable narratives. I knew I would use those skills somehow. And I was right! As a freelance journalist, I’ve written hundreds upon hundreds of trade and consumer magazine articles. I’m not a niche writer—in fact, I pride myself on tackling just about any topic, from the mainstream to the obscure. I get great personal satisfaction out of researching the hell out of a subject and producing an entirely original take on it. This is definitely reflected in the diversity of my clips.

Copywriting is an under-appreciated art form. At its best, it’s a smart, approachable way for brands to connect with consumers. It’s harder than it looks, more influential than it’s given credit for and surprisingly fun to do. I’ve worked with several digital and marketing agencies to produce everything from banner ads to case studies to digital flyer copy. Smart marketing managers understand the value of investing in tight copy. They’re some of my favourite clients.
